Today you can travel back in time and experience the royal life for everyday life and celebration through the belongings of Christian 4.s and his descendants. Living rooms and halls testify to pomp and splendor, but also to peculiarities, secrets and a worldview that in some ways resembles ours - and in others is miles away.
Among the main attractions is the Knights' Hall with the thrones, and the three life-size silver lions standing guard around them.
The royal throne is made in narwhal stand with gilded figures, and the queen throne is made of silver. On the walls hangs a large tapestry series from 1693, showing famous battles between Denmark and Sweden. The interiors are well-preserved and invite you on a time travel where visitors can experience the king's private writing room, bathroom and wax figures of former royal figures.
The castle also houses an impressive collection of Flora Danica and one of the world's finest collections of Venetian glass, both exhibited in tower chambers.
The Crown Jewels in the Treasury
Denmark's crown jewels, which are stored in Rosenborg's cellar, are among the most impressive in the world. The collection includes royal crowns, scepter, kingdom apples, gilded ceremonial swords, jewelry, gilded saddles and some of the greatest gems found.
Collection of Kings
Kongernes Samling is the organization behind Rosenborg, Amalienborgmuseet and Koldinghus , which collects, researches, preserves and disseminates. In your encounter with the exhibits, it is the living history that you can explore.
