Angels and Ghosts also called the "Dream Tower" is made of mirror-bright steel with "scratches" made by Erik A. Frandsen.
Departure and arrival are two important points on any journey. In architecture, this manifests itself in the first meeting with a building, which makes the entrance area particularly interesting. Artists Erik A. Frandsen and Jens Bertelsen have together created a gesamtkunstwerk, Angels and Ghosts, for the entrance at Langkær Gymnasium.
Angels and Ghost is a tower built in steel as a gas tank or other technical installation. But the tower is abstract and dreamy in its cladding of shiny steel plates that run from 130cm above ground to its top. In this, figures and shapes are scratched that are both recognizable and dissolved at the same time. The supporting construction is a so-called tensegriti construction, inspired by Buckminster Fuller's wire-based minimal constructions. The glossy sheets reflect the clouds in the sky, the sunlight and the reflections of those who pass by. The effects are therefore unpredictable, miraculous and fleeting. The tower is open to the sky and is erected on the round center circle in the 'men's swing' in front of the high school's entrance. It welcomes and says goodbye at the same time.
